My Story

Willow Lamour is the founder and creative director of Lamour Artisans. She personally sources all vintage textiles and works closely with her small manufacturing team to create uniquely styled, one-of-a-kind decor products.

Lamour Artisans came about while Willow and her husband were travelling through Central and South America on a typical Australian style extended holiday after moving on from their digital creative agency. They fell in love with magical Lake Atitlan in Guatemala and decided to stay for 3 years.

Inspired to embark on a fresh creative challenge, Willow explored the women’s weaving co-ops in neighbouring towns as well as Guatemalas famous textile markets and started making her own products. She then began sourcing Mayan seamstresses, eventually finding some beautiful local women from neighbouring towns San Pablo and San Juan, whom she shared a deep connection with.

Upon hiring, training and equipping her Mayan team, L'amour Artisans was officially under way. She enjoys creative and technical assistance from her husband as she continually seeks to improve L'amour Artisans online presence.

Returning at the end of 2019 to her home town Byron Bay, Australia Willow has continued working closely with the textile artisans and her manufacturing team during lock down to continue providing entirely unique home decor products repurposed from remote tribal textiles in the highlands of Guatemala.

To her delight, her Mayan staff have regularly expressed deep pride and joy that their cultural heritage is being honoured through these vintage textile pillows being sold around the world.
